Home Library Service

Home Library Service is available for Kingston-Frontenac residents who are homebound for three months or longer due to age, illness or disability.

How it Works

There are two options for delivery:  a monthly delivery, free of charge, of up to 20 items (including regular print hardcovers and paperbacks, large print books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, and DAISY talking books) or items sent through Canada Post, with return postage included. The service offered will depend on geographic location and availability of delivery drivers in your area.

How to Apply

Call us at (613) 549-8888, extension 3573 or use our web form. Library staff will verify your eligibility, discuss a delivery schedule, and ask you about your reading interests and needs so that each month we can send you items that you will enjoy.

Options Other Than Home Delivery

If you want only infrequent service or if you have someone who can pick up materials for you, we can arrange to send items to your local library for a family member, caregiver or friend to pick up.

Help Finding New Books to Read

Contact your local branch by phone or send us a message if you need help finding your next great read or have questions about our Home Library Service! Or try some of our online tools  to discover new titles and authors. Try narrowing your search in our catalogue by item type, such as Large Type or Audiobook, using our advanced search tools, and then narrow the results using the categories at the left of the search results.

NoveList can suggest titles and authors similar to your favourites, helps you find other titles in a series, and offers themed lists to help guide your fiction and non-fiction reading.
