KFPL Summer Reading Challenge Program Feedback
I enjoyed the different challenges in this year's summer reading challenge and I liked the Reader's Square. It was nice to see what other people in the community are reading and recommending. I like the platform that the challenge was hosted on. It is user-friendly (except that you can't edit or delete comments once posted) and easy to navigate. I also really enjoy learning about different services the library offers through the various challenges.
For next year, I would add the option to edit or delete comments. I think it would also make sense to have one spot for the Bookchat Board for everyone to see discussion throughout the challenge rather than have it separated by weeks.
I think that the prizes were great this year and I liked how participants could choose between an Indigo or Novel Idea gift card.

I enjoyed the Reader’s Square. I am always searching for new books to read so it was great to pick up a few recommendations from these posts.
I agree that the ability to edit your posts would be nice. It would also be helpful if there were notifications for when people respond to your comments. It would be wonderful if the challenge was longer or had a fall/winter session. I know in the past there have been in-person book groups at pubs etc., but this format works well for those without the time or ability to meet up.
I think the prizes are perfect. Maybe add in Bookland as an option for an independent seller in the west end.

I really liked everything about this year's summer reading challenge. I liked that we had a challenge and an option to talk to each other. I especially enjoyed being able to recommend books or receive them. It was nice to see others with the same taste as me.
I am really disappointed that I didn't win at all during each week's challenge, so I wished maybe there was more opportunity. Maybe having challenges during the year might help as well to encourage people.
Maybe more prize options so more people can win, but any prize, really :)

I loved the community building that occurred in the challenge, and how my TBR grew with some many other options and genres that I wouldn't have chosen for myself, but people sold me on the stories.
I would like to know (if participants were willing) who won the weekly prize so that we could congratulate them in the book chat. There was a lot of effort put in by a lot of people, and that should be celebrated!
I would love to see bookish things, tote bags for carrying library books or groceries, small prizes like bookmarks and things as well as the gift cards.

I discovered the summer book club only this year. I love the fact that you can read for fun and have a chance to win prizes. I really apreciate.
I liked the most 'page to screen' and ' literary lemons'.
It would be nice to add a conversation topic for the bookchat. A simple question about the theme of the week.
I love that you can choose between prices. I like that the prices are related to reading ( the why of the summer reading club).
Maintenant en français, c'est plus facile pour moi. Merci énormément pour ses semaines de challenge. Grace à ça, j'ai découvert de nouveaux livres.

My first year in Ontario, and I truly enjoyed everything about the summer reading club. Of course, it would have been even better if I had won the prize.
I hope there will be more participants and prizes the following year.
Although a prize might be appealing, a gift card could satisfy many different tastes.
Thanks for the reads!
I love the variety of topics, and being able to share what we are reading. I added a bunch of books to my to-be-read pile based on discussions.
I also enjoyed learning about some of the various library programs (like May we suggest).
I particularly enjoyed the "literary lemons" and "page to screen" challenges. I'd love to see challenges that encourage us to read different styles, or recommend books (ex: if you liked "that" book, you should read "this" one. I did not enjoy the challenges that required us to take a picture of ourselves and post it.
I did have some technical issues posting my responses. The text box is very hard to use on Android, so I had to type each entry into another app and then copy-paste it into the text box.
I like that the prizes were local! Happy to see some Kingston restaurants and stores featured.
Thanks for a great reading summer!

Thank you, KFPL, for making the summer reading challenges possible this year. It was incredibly fun doing the challenges and being able to connect with everyone. I liked the posts, and being able to read and comment on each other's posts was also nice.
It would be nice to see who wins the prizes each week and congratulate them for their hard work. I was a bit sad not to have won any of the weeks, but I think it would be nice to talk to everyone and encourage each other for next year. Maybe more little prizes so everyone can be encouraged for their hard work.
Smaller prizes or options to allow more people to win and get encouraged for their hard work and dedication to reading.

I thought this was a really fun event! I enjoyed it a lot and I learned some new things about the library's services.
The one thing I didn't like was the challenges where you had to take a photo of yourself. I doubt I'm the only committed reader who's a bit camera shy.
Winners?
Hey!
Does anyone know if the winners for the last week or grand prize were announced?
Grand Prize Winner
Thanks for asking. Caroline Kalil is the grand prize winner. Messages were posted to kfpl's Facebook and twitter.
